Bricscad V11 Tutorial

V11V11
  • As noted in another thread, if you buy V10 Linux licence now, you actually get V11 licence, which will work with both. But the V11 has been out only for a day, it is a little early to make conclusions yet.

  • Sure you get V11 Linux but we all know V10 Linux isn't like V11 Windows platform....it's just not there yet.

  • I purchased the V10 linux on or about first day it was officially released. Does my license cover me on a V11 release on linux? I have a few items that dont work correct I would like to use MS version from my dual boot until Linux version is up to speed without 2 licenses.? Thanks for the great work on the linux version, it is great and I know every day it is getting better and better until the best! Thanks for anyones time to respond to this message. Respectfully,

    Hi All,

Time to take some doubts away.

Bricscad V10 for LINUX is at least as important for us as the Bricscad V10 for Windows. Consequently the support and services for our LINUX customers are exactly the same.

This means that the 'Bricscad V10 for LINUX' -user is able to download all the updates between two major Versions of Bricscad, free of charge. Interesting to know: the user key for Bricscad V10 for LINUX is also V11 enabled already. So if you buy now you will be able to use automatically the next major upgrade: Bricscad V11 for LINUX without additional cost. New features for Bricscad V11 Classic will be available for as well LINUX as for Windows.

  • I think it's great that Bricscad is honouring V11 upgardes with the purchase of a V10 license. Unfortunately. V10 Linux is lacking a couple key items for my purposes, like the insert object-which we use regularly for spreadsheet ' Bill of Materials.' Without this I have to maintain a Window version-to even view these items, if I knew it would be available in Linux V11 I'd be happy to hand over the cash. I can over look a lot of the little things still getting worked out and I'm thrilled we're getting a functioning cad program for Linux...just not there for me yet and I will ionvest in it when it's capable of handling my cad needs.

BricsCAD Lite is a modern computer-aided design (CAD) software for 2D drafting. Create floor plans, layouts, 2D product design and more, all in.dwg. BricsCAD (Linux) V16,V17 is built with gcc 4.8.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. As a result the minimum required c runtime (libstdc) is 4.8.2. In practice, BricsCAD (Linux) can run on almost any distribution that is newer than Ubuntu 14.04. We receive many support requests for other distributions.
